Cedar Key & Savanna..the "Real Final Days"

The latest in Truck Campers....we found this at the Chiefland Flea Market...

Here we have arrived at Sunset Isle RV Park..true Old Florida located on Cedar Key the most westerly point off of the Florida coast (24/miles)...

What Nanny Nancy does best......

We kayaked out to this outer island from Cedar Key ...this took us out over 25 miles into the Gulf from the main land of Florida West coast...

Aquaculture is big on cedar Key...they farm clams...here we take a tour of a Clam Farm center

Here we get to see bay clams the size of the point of a pin under the scope...

The nursery area before the clams are bagged and moved out into the Gulf for 12-16 months
Here is a handful (estimated to be maybe a couple 100/thousand clams) about 1 week old...
The brewing of clam food....not the same w/out the smell...........
Here the clams sit until bagging and set out in the gulf....

A local Honey Store...they sold only honey products here from honey wax perfumes cosmetics clothes & equipment.very cool store..
